Its been a hectic week for me. Aniq has not been feeling well the past few days. Brought him to see the GP but the medicine was not effective at all. His temperature is not consistent through-out and worse still, his breathing is heavy and looks tired. Gone was his good appetite and been rather cranky.
I was about to get ready to work when Aniq woke up on Monday morning. Took his temperature and its not a good sign. Could feel his phlegm in his airwave and his heartbeat is faster than normal. Mum advise to bring him to KKH for further treatment since his fever has not subside at Day 4.
We reach KKH at about 9 plus with some other kids and parents there already. Took the queue no and waited for our turn. When our no. was finally called, the Senior nurse took his temperature and as always the common qn, "WHat's wrong with your son?".
After repalying all the symptom to her, she suggested taking blood test and x-ray for him since he is already 3 years old and his fever do not subside after 4 days. U
With a heavy heart, I had to allow that for the sake of my sick child and that he should be cure 100%.
After payment was made, made our way to rm 11 and waited for our turn again. His blood was drawn from his tiny finger and he do not cry a bit. My brave little BOY. After which an X-ray was done and then the waiting game started. Seen the doctor which she suggested that Aniq has to be given inhaler with 10 puffs. My son was all cryingcoz he hated the inhaler. Waited again, see doctor and then the puff again.n total of 3 cycles after which the doctor suggested of having him admitted as his oxygen level in the lung is also not that good.
Aniq had been pestering us to bring him home but he did not know that the hospital bed was awaiting for him. I lie to him saying that we are gonna stay in a hotel and he is of course so so delighted.
However, when we arrive at the bed, he realise that he had to stay there. He kept cying wanting to go home but for the sake of his health. Mummy so sorry darling have to put you in the hospital. It break my heart to see him crying wanting to go home but... I have to presevere.
Hubby had been supportive throughout taking turns to calm him down. Aniq simply hated the inhaler thing. Doctor came to examine and suggested having to carry on the puffing every 3 hours. We manage to coax Aniq abt the stay in the hospital and for a while he seems to be able to forgot abt it. Brought him downstairs to buy food for break fast. Had a simple meal as we both are tired rather than hungry.
Poor hubby had to go back home to take a few things before coming back to the hospital for our overnight stay there. Managed to put him to bed by 9 plus peacefully. By the time hubby came back to the hospital at 10 plus, I am already too tired to stike a long conversation and so do him as he just came back from night shift and had to rush to the hospital.
By the next morning, Aniq look much fresher than previously and eating quite well. Yay...his appetite is coming back. He even said THANK YOU to everybody who attended to him. However, when the doctor came for his round, we were informed that Aniq had to stay for another night as his wheezing can still be heard. But my son already look fresh and healthy. We requested that we bring him home as we feel that he would recover better at home. After much persuasion, we are granted to bring him home but we have to sign the discharge form as it is against his advice but we insist.
He still look weak when we reach home. and I am even more tired than him. However, being the most precious person in my life, I wouldn't mind losing all the sleep for his sake.
Love you to bits Darling.
